Growth, structural, thermal and dielectric studies of a-glycine single crystals grown under the influence of potassium iodide for nonlinear optical applications

Glycine has the simplest structure among all amino acids. Many attempts have been made to grow different derivative crystals of glycine. However, title compound was not investigated thoroughly understand usability crystal for its device application. In present investigation, using slow evaporation solution growth technique, single glycine grown in presence potassium iodide. Detailed investigations were on structural and thermal properties crystals. Structural analysis carried out by X-ray diffraction method, Fourier Transform Infrared, FT-Raman Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectral methods conform Thermal stability studied Thermogravimetric (TG) Differential (DTA) it found that is stable up 113°C. UV-Vis any significant absorbance entire visible region. Dielectric studies samples also studied. Nonlinear optical property confirmed Kurtz powder technique nearly fifty percentage SHG efficiency as standard KDP sample. The observed suitable nonlinear applications. Copyright © 2017 VBRI Press.
